Prof. Kang Li Leads the Team iAuto to Win the 2nd Place in 2018-2019 Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport

NTU self-driving transport team led by Professor Kang Li (李綱) of Mechanical Engineering Department cooperated with Ming Chi University of Technology (明志科技大學) and Formosa Plastics Group (台塑企業) to form the team “iAuto Consortium” and attended 2018-2019 Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport, winning the 2nd place and 500,000 USD award out of 27 competitors. Professor Li was invited to give the speech at the World Congress for Self-Driving Transport in Dubai; what’s more, iAuto signed the official cooperation MOU with the host country, holding the great opportunity for further cooperation in Taiwan.

iAuto from Taiwan is the only East-Asian team that makes it to the finals. The team members include NTU mechanical engineering research team of Professor Kang Li and Professor Jung-Ho Cheng (鄭榮和), Ming Chi University of Technology research team of Associate Professor Dao-Yi Huang (黃道易), iAuto Technology (艾歐圖科技公司), Formosa Plastics Transport Corporation (台塑汽車貨運公司), and Industrial Technology Research Institute (工業技術研究院).
