Prof. Kuo-Lun Tung and Prof. Chien-Fu Chen Receive Futuristic Breakthrough Technology Award at FUTEX 2019

Future Tech, FUTEX held by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) has stepped into the 3rd year. For 2019, over 500 applications are received, and through careful examination and selection process from exports of various fields, finally 88 research results with "industrial applicability" and "scientific breakthrough" features are chosen to be awarded 2019 Futuristic Breakthrough Technology Award.

In the selection this year, totally 11 research results from National Taiwan University are awarded, and among them, College of Engineering has contributed 2 awards respectively from the research teams of Prof. Kuo-Lun Tung (童國倫) (Chemical Engineering) with the research on “Preparation of biomimetic omniphobic porous membrane for application in membrane contactor”, and of Prof. Chien-Fu Chen (陳建甫) (Institute of Applied Mechanic) with the research on the development of the disease diagnosis system “A Manual Centrifuge Paper Devices for Point-of-Care Diagnosis”. Their awarded and outstanding research achievement will be exhibited at FUTEX 2019 (2019, 12/5-8).

Future Tech, FUTEX displays the advanced technology of academic and research fields, focusing on the integration of industries and the world. Through FUTEX, it shows Taiwan’s research & development and innovation capabilities, and provides the best platform for industry-academia cooperation. The key focus of 2019 technology lies in the areas such as new biomedicine, smart agricultural biotechnology, electronics, optoelectronics, semiconductors, smart machinery and novel materials, artificial intelligence applications, etc. In addition to the exhibition, FUTEX also provides cooperation arrangement and future technology forums to continuously drive academic interactions and business cooperation opportunities.
