The Beam Raising Ceremony for the Additional Construction of NCREE
The beam raising ceremony for the additional construction of NCREE was held on May. 27th 2020, hosted by NTU Executive Vice President Ching-Hua Lo (羅清華) with attendees including Chairman Samuel (Yen-Liang) Yin (尹衍樑) of Ruentex Group (潤泰集團), Chairman Tsang-Jiunn Jean (簡滄圳) of Ruentex Development CO., LTD (潤泰創新國際股份有限公司), President Roy Lu (盧玉璜) of Ruentex Interior Design Inc. (潤德室內裝修設計工程股份有限公司), CEO Jenn-Chuan Chern (陳振川) of Tang Prize, NTU Vice President for General Affairs Ge, Louis (葛宇甯), Dean Wen-Cheng Chen (陳文章), College of Engineering, Chairman Shang-Hsien (Patrick) Hsieh (謝尚賢) of Civil Engineering Department, former Chairmen of NCREE, Prof. Keh-Chyuan Tsai (蔡克銓) and Prof. Kuo-Chun Chang (張國鎮), former President Yeong-Her Wang (王永和) of NARLabs , Director General Shyh-Jiann Hwang (黃世建) of NCREE, and more than 30 guests participating to witness the milestone of this construction to be fully completed in structure.
Thanks to the generous donation from Chairman Samuel (Yen-Liang) Yin of Ruentex Group to Civil Engineering Department, this additional construction project cooperated by Ruentex Group, Civil Engineering, and NCREE, is a combination of new and old architectural design, multiple earthquake-resistant reinforcement and new technologies for seismic protection. What’s more, these technologies applied to this building include early warning of earthquakes, structural safety monitoring, high-order numerical analysis, and 5D smart building technology, which will effectively enhance the research cooperation, education, industry-university development and international interaction of Civil Engineering and NCREE after the completion of the construction.
