Alumni Mr. Eugene Y. Chang’s Family Set up Scholarship

Family of NTU alumni, Mr. Eugene Y. Chang (張永京) donated NTD 1,090,066 to College of Engineering and set up “Eugene Chang Memorial Endowment Fund” in 2019, providing scholarship to CoE and encourage outstanding students to devote themselves to their studies and contribution to society. Through the scholarship, it is expected to continuously benefit the CoE students for their studies.

Alumni Mr. Eugene Y. Chang graduated from NTU Department of Agricultural Engineering in 1978 and got his master’s degree of Hydraulic Engineering and Financial Engineering in UC Berkeley. He returned to Taiwan in 1994 as the general manager of Taiwan International Securities Corp. (金鼎證券, the Capital Group now) and has been the chairman of Chinese National Futures Association, CNFA (中華民國期貨商同業公會), playing an important role in establishing the financial market of Taiwan’s futures and options trading. In 1999, Mr. Chang established Acquire Assets Corporation (盛信國際投資管理公司), focusing on the investment opportunities in China and helping many corporations to complete their financial and investment plans. Mr. Change has a lot of interests such as politics, finance, computer science, superconductivity, solar energy, crude oil trading, high-speed rail, real estates, and other fields. He has also served as a senior advisor of National Commission for Sustainable Development (NCSD, USA國家可持續發展中心).

Mr. Chang is optimistic and upright by nature. He is passionate about helping others and is respected and loved by his colleagues. It is regrettable that Mr. Chang passed away in 2019. His family set up “Eugene Chang Memorial Endowment Fund” as the memorial of his good deeds and enthusiasm during his lifetime and also the gratitude to his alma mater, NTU, hoping to encourage the students to realize their dreams through the scholarship.
