2019 Asian Deans' Forum- The Rising Stars Women in Engineering Workshop

After the 1st Asian Deans Forum (2016) held by The University of Tokyo, NTU CoE and National University of Singapore continued to hold the 2nd and the 3rd forum. The 4th forum was held by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in October, 2018. And the latest forum was held on Oct. 24th, 2019 by Seoul National University. Participating members included The University of Tokyo, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, National University of Singapore, National Taiwan University, and the co-organizer: The University of New South Wales.

Following the successful topic in the previous forum: The Rising Stars Women in Engineering Workshop, 2019 Asian Deans' Forum aims to bring together young female scholars in engineering fields around the world, including scholars, researchers and engineers being interested in exploring and advancing careers in academia, for scientific and career-oriented discussions relevant to the development of women academic leaders in Asia.

NTU visiting team of the forum was led by Associate Dean Chung-Che Chou (周中哲) of College of Engineering. Participating members include Professor Wei-Fang Su (林唯芳) of Material Science and Engineering, Associate Professor Hsu-Chun Hsiao (蕭旭君) of College of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, postdoctoral researcher Hsin-Tien Lin (林心恬) of Mechanical Engineering, and PhD student Huan-Yu Shiu (許桓瑜) of Environmental Engineering.

Totally 30 brilliant female scholars were selected from over 300 applicants to join the forum, which offered the participants a glimpse into an academic career in top Asian universities and provided insightful plenary, keynote lectures, panel discussions and mentoring sessions.
