2019 NTU Engineering Special Contribution Award
Vice General Manager Wen-Long Liu received the award from Dean Wen-Chang Chen of CoE.
In recognition of the significant contributions of alumni and enterprises to the college, College of Engineering, NTU has set up the NTU Engineering Special Contribution Award since 2018 and hold the awarding ceremony annually. “2019 NTU Engineering Special Contribution Award” was awarded to Yee Fong Chemical & Industrial Co., Ltd. (義芳化學工業股份有限公司) On behalf of the Chairman Chin-Wen Chen (陳欽文), Vice General Manager Wen-Long Liu (劉文龍) attended the ceremony and received the award from Dean Wen-Chang Chen (陳文章) of CoE on Dec. 30th, 2019.
Led by Chairman Chin-Wen Chen, Yee Fong Chemical & Industrial Co., Ltd. upholds the spirit of giving back to the society and contributing to the schools. And in honor of Chairman Chen’s father and the company founder, Mr. Fan-Tsan Chen (陳芳燦), Chairman Chen setup “Fan-Tsan Chen Lectureship” in NTU for higher academic & research level and international cooperation improvement, donating NTD 400,000 each year to Chemical Engineering and inviting international scholars to NTU for lecturing and academic interactions. From 2015-2019, the total donation has amounted to NTD 2 million, and 6 international scholars has been invited to NTU as academic lecture to give 9 speeches during the period.
Among them, the well-known scholar in the field of electrochemical energy storage and energy conversion, Professor Dr. Martin Winter was invited in 2018 May to NTU for a special lecture, brining great significance to the exchange of research and international perspectives. What’s more, starting from 2018, Yee Fong Chemical & Industrial Co., Ltd has setup additional lecture, providing NTD 300,000 subsidies for 1 professor in Chemical Engineering each year. At the same time, in order to encourage outstanding doctoral students, Yee Fong Chemical & Industrial Co., Ltd. has setup “Outstanding Doctoral Student Scholarship” starting from 2015 for 5 consecutive years, offering NTD 600,000 scholarships annually to encourage the achievement of research, hoping to increase the competence of industry.
Yee Fong Chemical & Industrial Co., Ltd. has offered funding to CoE students and professors with great efforts for years, contributing a lot to the development of the college, and deserves the reward of “2019 NTU Engineering Special Contribution Award”.
