Prof. Dun-Yen Kang Receives SCEJ Award for Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer

Prof. Dun-Yen Kang in our college recently receives SCEJ Award for Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer from The Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan (SCEJ). This is owing to his achievements on MOF membranes for separations. This award was established in 2011 to in recognition of the outstanding young researchers (under the age of 45) in Asian countries. Prof. Kang is the sixth Taiwanese scholar who wins this award, and is the second faculty member in our college being awarded. The awardee will be invited to deliver a lecture at the annual meeting of SCEJ in 2021, and will also be invited to contribute a review article in Journal of Chemical Engineering of Japan. Prof. Kang is focused on the development of ultramicroporous MOF materials for the membrane gas separations (H2/CO2, CO2/N2, CO2/CH4) and membrane pervaporation (IPA/H2O). His research accomplishments involve identifying promising MOF materials from the crystallography database, mechanism of mass transport, and the membrane separation performance. Prof. Kang receives this award because of his excellent contribution to the membrane separation technology.
