There are currently 267 full-time faculty members in the College of Engineering, including 184 full professors, 54 associate professors, 28 assistant professors, and 1 lecturer. 100% of them have doctoral degrees. Most faculty members received their highest education from prestigious universities in the USA, Europe, and Japan. The College of Engineering faculties constantly pursue excellence in teaching and dominate research in the national engineering fields. 175 times, our faculty members are prizewinners of National Science and Technology Council Outstanding Research awards, and 40 of them are Contract Research Fellows. Among the 333 distinguished professors at NTU, 48 are from the College of Engineering. Other significant accomplishments show the excellence and continuous contribution to academic research of CoE professors. For instance, Prof. Chia-Wen WU and Prof. Chu-Chen CHUEH have been selected as ISI Highly Cited Researchers. Prof. Falin CHEN, Prof. Wen-Chang CHEN, and Prof. Keh-Chyuan TSAI have been awarded the National Chair Professors and the Academic Award of the Ministry of Education, and the latter one was also awarded to Prof. Huan-Jang KEH.
The College of Engineering receives exceptional STEM students in Taiwan. It takes up a large proportion of the popularity of the university, with 12% of the NTU undergraduate students in the College of Engineering. All departments have always been the top choices in their respective fields in national university entrance examinations. College of Engineering takes up 19% of the master’s students and 21% of the Ph.D. students within the university. In terms of internationalization, there are currently 630 international students in the College of Engineering.
