2021 Chair Award & the Academic Award Ceremony of College of Engineering, NTU
In order to improve the standard of various engineering fields of our college, College of Engineering has co-established “TSUNG Cho-Chang Chair” (宗倬章先生講座), “Qinglang·Chanda Chemical Chair” (慶琅先生·詮達化學講座) and “Pin-Yen Chair” (斌彥先生講座) with TSUNG Cho-Chang Education Foundation (財團法人宗倬章先生教育基金會), Chanda Chemical Corporation (詮達化學股份有限公司), and AVATACK CO., LTD. (四維創新材料股份有限公司) respectively. In addition, “The Academic Award” (學術勵進獎) is setup to encourage current full-time teachers to improve their academic career achievements. The award ceremony is held on Nov. 24th, 2021 at the International Conference Hall, Institute of Applied Mechanics, NTU.
The awarded professors include Prof. Dar-Zen Chen (陳達仁) of Mechanical Engineering (TSUNG Cho-Chang Chair), Prof. Tung-Han Chuang (莊東漢) of Materials Science and Engineering (TSUNG Cho-Chang Chair), Prof. Nae-Lih Wu (吳乃立) of Chemical Engineering (Qinglang·Chanda Chemical Chair) and Prof. Kuo-Chuan Ho (何國川) of Chemical Engineering (Pin-Yen Chair); each award recipient is rewarded with NTD 600,000 and the trophy. The Academic Award are presented to 8 professors including Prof. Albert Y. Chen (陳柏華) of Civil Engineering, Prof. Kuo-Long Pan (潘國隆) of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Hsien-Yeh Chen (陳賢燁) of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Shiu-Wu Chau (趙修武) of Engineering Science and Ocean Engineering, Prof. Hung-Wei Yen (顏鴻威) of Materials Science and Engineering (顏鴻威), Prof. Hsing-Cheng Hsi (席行正) of Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering, Prof. Chien-Fu Chen (陳建甫) of Institute of Applied Mechanics, and Prof. Shih-Huang Tung (童世煌) of Institute of Polymer Science and Engineering. Each award recipient is rewarded with NTD 150,000 and the trophy.
Chairman Hsu-Shun TSUNG (宗緒順) of TSUNG Cho-Chang Education Foundation, Chairman Ho-Ching Huang (黃河清) of Chanda Chemical Corporation (詮達化學股份有限公司) and Chairman Hwei-Ling Yang (楊慧玲) of AVATACK CO., LTD. (四維創新材料股份有限公司) are invited to the award ceremony to give speeches and present the rewards to the recipients. The sponsors of The Academic Award: Chun Yu Works Co., Ltd. (春雨工廠股份有限公司) and Luminescence Technology Corp. (機光科技股份有限公司) weren’t able to attend the ceremony; therefore, Dean Wen-Chang Chen (陳文章) of College of Engineering presents the rewards to the recipients to encourage award-winning teachers for their outstanding performance in academic research and industry-university cooperation.
